Episode 20 - This Podcast Needed a Reset
Tue Jan 06 2026
As 2026 begins, I deliberately slow things down to reassess what deserves continuity — and what doesn’t. This episode is a reset: a clear look at consistency, recovery, and how the meaning of functional strength evolves as priorities shift with age.
I share where I currently stand with training — steel mace, kettlebells, exercise snacks, and intentional recovery days — and why aesthetics are no longer the main driver. The focus has moved to function: how strength, mobility, and resilience show up in everyday life, not just in workouts.
We also explore gut health, supplementation choices, self-experimentation, and the often-ignored role of recovery and microbiome balance in long-term performance. Along the way, I reference a relevant conversation from The Diary of a CEO that adds important perspective on gut health and long-term wellbeing.
This episode also signals a broader direction for the podcast: sharing ideas, resources, and conversations that shape how we think about aging, health, and sustainability — potentially including a future Portuguese-language version and topics that go beyond training alone.
This is not about resolutions or motivation.
It’s about intention, continuity, and choosing what is worth carrying forward.
