Ran Levy Yamamori is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, writer, and environmental educator whose work bridges science, storytelling, and creative education across cultures. Beginning his career as a wildlife biologist in Israel and Japan, he combined research and filmmaking toreveal the hidden lives of desert wolves, vultures, barn owls, and other wildlife for major broadcasters such as NHK Japan.
Beyond filmmaking, Ran has led transformative Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) initiatives across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Asia, empowering teachers, NGOs, and community leaders to think creatively and integrate environmental awareness into education systems. He has designed and implemented cross-cultural projects uniting Arab and Jewish educators, and trained government and NGO teams in creative approaches to sustainability education.
Ran is the founder of Har Yaar Publications, a pioneering environmental education imprint that has published more than 50 inspirational children’s books in Hebrew, Arabic, Japanese, Greek, English, and French. Har Yaar is the only publisher consistently producing bilingual Arabic Hebrew books on wildlife conservation, environmental education, and coexistence.
