As Director of Broadcast Media, Film, Journalism, Politics and Contemporary History at Salford University, Richard is in a unique position to talk about everything from the future of news reporting to where next for Andy Burnham and the Labour Party. We also examine how journalism has changed and how teaching of media has responded, plus the importance of football (and darts), whether cameras should be allowed in courts - and his favourite tipple. "You want to be Amelia Dimoldenberg? That's great, but you've got to kind of, understand the basics of content production, of ethics and of law."
