Murder Closet is a hybrid fictional True Crime podcast and an exploration of how to write and publish a novel. The Crime: Two scientists, a husband and a wife (Dr. Hale Brooks and Dr. Kelli Izbrand), are murdered on Halloween night at a secret federal research institution (Project Omega) in Southern California. Hale's adopted daughter (California "Cali" Brooks) disappeared 10 years earlier to the day. Are these two events related? Cali's godmother, godfather, uncle, biological father, and grandfather are all scientists employed at the research institute; all of whom lived together in Berkeley at the time of her disappearance. What is the goal of Project Omega? We have leaked documents that give our listeners the inside information. "The last time this many scientists gathered in the desert they built the first atom bomb."

In Season One we write and publish a mystery novel in less than a year. Come along with us as we untangle the evidence that links these fictional crimes. If you like True Crime, books, and mysteries, or ever wanted an insider look at what is involved in writing and publishing a novel, then this podcast is for you.

Marian Mullins a
