S9E13 (Mini-Series EP 01): Dispelling the Myths of Breastfeeding and Beyond
Sun Feb 01 2026
Have you ever felt like you’re drowning in a sea of conflicting parenting advice? One minute you're told you must do things one way, and the next, a "parenting expert" on TikTok tells you the exact opposite. It’s enough to make any parent feel like they’re failing before they’ve even begun. That is exactly why I am so thrilled to introduce our brand-new mini-series, Raising Eyebrows.
My "partner in crime" for this journey is the wonderful Dr. Kailey Buller, a double board-certified physician in family and emergency medicine who has delivered hundreds of babies and lived through the newborn chaos herself. We are here to help you question authority, trust your gut, and finally dispel the myths, the meltdowns, and the misinformation that is roaming this world out of control.
In this first episode, we’re diving straight into one of the most polarizing topics in the parenting world: breastfeeding. We’ve all heard the "breast is best" mantras, but what happens when it just doesn't work for you? Dr. Kailey and I get real about our own "defective boobies" and why your maternal mental health and stress levels are actually far more important to your baby’s well-being than the nutritional content of a single bottle.
We talk about how the real keys to breastfeeding success aren't actually about your body at all — they're about your support system, your resources, and your time.
It’s time to stop the shame and recognize that formula is one of the most regulated foods on the planet; whether you breastfeed for a week or a year, your baby is going to be wonderful.
We also pull a comb through the confusing world of starting solids, debunking the myth that you need to be a gourmet chef or spend three hours on meal prep. We share the truth about baby-led weaning, why "banana guacamole" might just be your baby's new favorite dish, and why gagging is a totally normal part of the learning process — not a sign that your baby is dying!
Raising a child should be fun, and it starts when you stop comparing your "behind-the-scenes" to someone else's curated highlight reel.
Remember, you are the answer to your child’s needs, and as long as they are breathing, growing, and loved, you are doing a great job. Raise those eyebrows, question the noise, and join us as we bring some peace and laughter back into your parenting journey.
