Connected Parenting
Hosted by Jennifer Kolari
Connected Parenting shares techniques that therapists use to help parents soothe their child as well as enhance the parent-child bond and is based on the understanding that correcting and guiding behavior works best when it is preceded by and linked to empathy. At the heart of this parenting model is the CALM Technique which helps parents accurately attune to children’s affect and experience. These empathic interactions release reward chemicals in the brain that stimulate positive emotions and increase order and balance in the nervous system. Reward chemicals, including natural opiates, endorphins, and a powerful hormone called oxytocin, reduce and inhibit stress hormones and bathe the brain in positive emotions that ripple through every cell in the body. The benefits of empathy and compassion have a strong base in science that cannot be underestimated. Simply put, it is brain food, the emotional nutrition all of us need, perhaps our children most of all.
Although many parenting techniques stress the importance of empathy, Connected Parenting will show you how to use it skillfully to repair frayed bonds, deescalate tantrums, contain and correct difficult behaviors and help your chi

After Bedtime with Big Little Feelings
Hosted by Audacy and Big Little Feelings
Real talk? Modern parenting is a doozy. There’s never been more pressure to be perfect with social media readily at our fingertips - mixed with total isolation and no help. Where the f*ck is that village everyone talks about? Consider After Bedtime your village. Led by Kristin and Deena - founders of the largest online parenting community, Big Little Feelings - After Bedtime is the place you can go at the end of a long hard day to find your “enough”-ness. We’ll laugh, we’ll cry, we’ll maybe pee our pants a little as we unpack things we’re ALL experiencing but too ashamed to talk about: imperfect marriages, miscarriages, managing toddler mania, apologizing to our kids and everything in between. You’ll leave with actionable, realistic tips to make this whole parenting thing smoother - small changes, big impact. In an age where parents need more *real* connection than ever, let’s talk honestly about the hard - and remind ourselves we are not alone, we are not failing. In fact, we’re f*cking crushing it.

Marti & Erin use research-based information and a few personal confessions as they and their guests discuss what it means to be "mom enough."<br /><br />As moms, most of us worry at times about whether we're doing things right, second-guessing our parenting approach and blaming ourselves if our children stray or fall short. We worry that we might not be "mom enough". But what does it really mean to be "mom enough"? And is it possible to be "mom too much," to the extent that our kids might not have a chance to build their own skills to navigate life'

School to Homeschool
Hosted by Janae Daniels
In July 2020, I did something I vowed as a once-public middle school teacher, that I would NEVER do. I withdrew my remaining four children of six and began homeschooling. My oldest two sons had graduated from public/charter schools and my remaining four had been in public school since Pre-K.I had two children about to finish middle school and head into high school. To say I was terrified was an understatement–even with my experience teaching hundreds of kids a year prior to getting married. This was different. What if I made them stupid? What if they became “weird” homeschooled kids? What if they couldn’t get into college? What if I messed up? What if I ruined them forever? I wasn’t a math teacher. I wasn’t a science teacher. I wasn’t an English teacher. I had been a theater teacher! I was an ELECTIVE teacher. Most kids came to my class because they WANTED to, not because they HAD to. My own kids would be DOOMED! Yet, I felt compelled…and the upcoming 2020-2021 school year was

When Millennials Become Moms
Hosted by Dr. Organic Mommy
Welcome to "When Millennials Become Moms," covering all aspects of parenting, pregnancy, postpartum care, nutrition, and non-toxic living. Dr. Natasha Beck, also known as Dr. Organic Mommy, is a public health and parenting expert. She founded Dr. Organic Mommy to assist every parent in making healthy decisions for themselves and their families.
During her early career in clinics, she observed the significant impact of diet on children's health. Her determination grew when her first child was hospitalized for 29 days, fueling her frustration with marketing schemes and the lack of regulation and transparency in the consumer product industry. Implementing non-toxic changes in her life, she began educating others about her journey. She continues her research and exploration with "When Millennials Become Moms." Along with her co-host and Dr. Organic Mommy co-founder Emily Raiber, they engage with leading experts, share personal struggles, and navigate the vast amount of information available. They aim to simplify the complexities of modern motherhood, which is very different from the era when baby boomers were raising children.

Mother Tongue
Hosted by Mother Tongue
Mother Tongue is a podcast about modern motherhood - the ambition, the identity shifts, the invisible load, and the quiet recalibrations that happen behind the scenes.I’m Maryanne. I’m a mum of three, a founder, and someone who has spent most of her adult life building businesses while raising a family, often at the same time, usually a little exhausted, and always learning as I go. This podcast is where I have the conversations I wish I’d heard earlier - the honest ones about work, money, ambition, relationships, burnout, confidence, health, and what it really means to build a life alongside motherhood, not in spite of it.Each episode features thoughtful, open conversations with founders, creatives, doctors, experts and women navigating big lives in real time. We talk about the things that don’t always make it into neat soundbites - the trade-offs, the doubts, the moments of clarity, and the decisions that quietly change everything.Mother Tongue isn’t about doing more or getting it perfect. It’s about feeling less alone, better informed, and more grounded in the choices you’re making - whether you’re building a business, raising children, starting again, or simply trying to make s

Kids Considered™ Podcast
Hosted by Kids Considered
Kids Considered™ is a UC Davis Children’s Hospital podcast, featuring two pediatricians who discuss child health topics of interest to parents in plain, non-medical language. New subjects are considered in every episode, discussing issues that apply from healthy pregnancy to birth to teen years. We have different styles of practice and viewpoints, but our goals are the same: we want to optimize children’s health and development, and help parents understand current recommendations and why policies are the way they are. We aim to provide accurate and timely information in an entertaining manner to increase the confidence of parents as they address the sometimes confusing parenting issues of our day. Although our podcast is aimed mainly for parents, pediatricians and other health care providers might find our discussions of interest. And children might want to get a behind the scenes look at what their parents are listening to.
