Building Your Career in the Pivot with Jane Edmondson

Tue Feb 03 2026

Listen

In this episode, Jane Edmondson shares what it means to pivot, embrace failure, and redefine success at every stage, from “accidental entrepreneur” to intentional leader. What if your career isn’t meant to follow a straight line and success comes from knowing when to pivot instead? Jane Edmondson is Co-Founder of EQM Indexes, an industry leader in thematic and bespoke index design, which was acquired by VettaFi in September 2023. She currently serves as Head of Index Product Strategy at TMX VettaFi, partnering with clients to build innovative index solutions at scale. Jane has more than 30 years of experience in the investment industry and is a former Quantitative Portfolio Manager at Allianz Global Investors and its predecessor firm, Nicholas-Applegate. She began her career at Merrill Lynch and has been involved in the creation of several successful thematic indexes, including the first online retail index and the first blockchain index. She holds a BA from the University of California, Irvine, and an MBA in Finance from San Diego State University, and is FINRA Series 66 licensed. Based on the West Coast, Jane is a co-founder of the Southern California chapter of Women in ETFs and is passionate about mentorship, building community, and supporting the next generation of leaders. Outside of work, she’s a self-described “recovering entrepreneur,” a beginner golfer, and the proud mom of two adult children. Kristine Delano guides the wide-ranging conversation about pivots, leadership, entrepreneurship, and what it really takes to build a career that evolves with you.
