110 | Prioritizing Health in College, with Lydia Meredith
Mon Jan 12 2026
Special episode with my oldest child, Lydia! She just finished her first semester in college and we talk about how that new transition in her life affected her physical, mental and spiritual wellness.
Here’s what I asked her:
Homeschooled to dorm life - how has that transition been? What are some things we did in your dorm room to make it healthier?Has it been easy or hard to be a healthy college studentHow do you handle dining hall food? How has your mental health been? - What are some challenges for that?Has it been hard to pursue spiritual health in college? What are some things you wish you could tell all your college friends about healthy choices? What do you see as some of the biggest barriers to healthy living for young adults? What is something you would like to do better for your health next semester?Tell me about your college “health” class. As her mom, I wish I had been more educated about food, vaccines, antibiotics to prevent some of the health issues you had. How does it make her feel knowing that her parents didn’t make all the right choices? What do you see as your bigger health challenge now?Do you feel educated enough to care for yourself? Are you glad that I tried to teach you about some of those things? What are some of your “go to’s” when you don’t feel well?If you have kids that are college bound in the next couple years, or are currently struggling to prioritize health in college, you’ll love hearing what Lydia has to say! And we’d love for you to share this episode with your friends!
