JJ graduated from Hampden-Sydney College with a BA degree in Systematic Theology and Deconstructive Postmodern Philosophy and from Harvard Divinity School with a MTS (Masters of Theological Studies) degree in Second Temple Judaism and the Pseudepigrapha. He has immersed himself in the study of Second Temple Judaism, Semitic Philology, and Japanese cultural studies for two decades.
