6 Best Qwoted Alternatives in 2026

Qwoted is a fair way to get quoted: a journalist posts a call for experts, you pitch inside the platform, and if your answer fits you land in the story. The limits show up once you depend on it: two pitches a month free, 35 a month on the $149 Pro plan, every request open to the rest of Qwoted's 300,000+ experts, and no inbox sending or follow-ups for outreach of your own.

These are the tools people move to, or run alongside Qwoted, when that stops being enough.

By the PodPitch team. Updated .

PodPitch holds the highest G2 rating of any tool on this page (5.0 of 5), so it is listed first. Every other tool was checked against its own pricing page and public reviews, and where another tool is the better fit for a specific job, we say so. How we picked.

Qwoted (for reference)Experts and PR teams answering journalist requests for quotesFree; Pro $149/mo ($99/mo billed annually)Journalist request marketplace: you pitch inside Qwoted when a reporter posts a call

Prices checked October 21, 2026 on each vendor's site or, for quote-only vendors, from the public sources listed at the end.

Why people look for Qwoted alternatives

Pitch caps on every self-serve plan

Basic is free but allows 2 pitches a month and delays delivery of your pitches by 2 hours. Pro lifts that to 35 a month for $149, or $1,188 a year. Unlimited pitching exists only on the quote-only Teams plan.

Every request is a contest

Each request goes to every matching profile. Qwoted had the most queries of the seven platforms in BuzzStream's 2025 study. G2 reviewers add that journalists often do not say whether you were used.

Built for waiting on the right call

Qwoted's guidelines say not to contact its reporters outside the platform unless they ask, and it has no inbox sending or follow-up sequences. Its free media database is still in beta with no published count. Trustpilot reviewers (3.3 of 5, 121 reviews) also report accounts disabled without a clear reason, and Qwoted said in July 2026 it had banned hundreds of agencies and experts over fake identities or AI-written pitches.

1. PodPitch

Best for
Experts, founders and PR firms who want to pitch podcasts, journalists and Substack writers without waiting for a request
Pricing
Quoted on a free demo call. Plans are billed every 3, 6 or 12 months (longer terms cost less) and include unlimited users. There is no free plan.
Coverage
4 million podcasts, 3 million journalists and Substack writers, drawn from 1.1 billion email addresses that refresh daily. See the database.

Qwoted's core workflow starts after a reporter has decided to write a story and posted a call. PodPitch starts from the other end. You describe yourself or a client, and it searches 4 million podcasts, 3 million journalists and Substack newsletter writers, scores each for fit, and writes a pitch that references the host's recent episodes or the writer's recent articles, in your voice from your writing samples. Pitches go out from your own Gmail or Outlook with up to two automatic follow-ups, replies land in Magic Inbox, and Booked Media logs each placement with an estimated earned media value. Agencies get unlimited users and client profiles on every plan, where Qwoted allows one login per person and sells shared access through its quote-only Teams plan.

Two things to know. PodPitch covers podcasts, journalists and Substack writers from one search. And PodPitch cannot show you a reporter who is writing a story this week and needs a source; a free request feed running next to it covers that. For most Qwoted users that pairing is the setup we would suggest.

Where PodPitch beats Qwoted

  • Pitches hosts and writers who never posted a request: 4 million podcasts, 3 million journalists and Substack writers.
  • Writes each pitch from the contact's recent episodes or articles, with subject-line A/B tests; on Qwoted you write every pitch yourself, since AI-generated commentary is against its guidelines.
  • Sends from your own Gmail or Outlook with up to two follow-ups; Qwoted pitches sit in the reporter's Qwoted inbox, with no follow-up sequence.
  • Unlimited users and client profiles on every plan; Qwoted is one login per person, with team access only on quote-only Teams.
  • Booked Media records every placement with an estimated earned media value and exports to CSV; Qwoted tracks coverage only in its managed Amplify service.

What you get

Finds who should hear from you

Describe yourself or a client and PodPitch searches podcasts, journalists and Substack newsletters, scores each one for fit, and shows each podcast's estimated monthly listeners.

Writes every pitch

Each email mentions the show's or writer's recent work and follows your writing samples, so it reads like you wrote it.

Sends from your inbox

Pitches go out from your Gmail or Outlook. Standard and Pro plans also include warmed sending mailboxes on separate domains.

Follows up, then stops

Up to two follow-ups per contact. Anyone who replies drops out of the sequence automatically.

One inbox for replies

Replies from hosts and writers land in Magic Inbox, sorted, so you answer everyone from one place.

Tracks what you booked

Booked Media logs every interview and placement with its estimated media value, and exports to CSV for client reports.

Monitors mentions

Keyword alerts across podcast transcripts, news articles and newsletters, emailed to you.

Built for teams and agencies

Unlimited users and client profiles on every plan, plus Slack alerts, single sign-on and an API for your campaign data.

“The outreach is meaningful since it references actual episodes from each podcast it pitches to. We have literally gotten more responses and booked podcasts than we can keep up with.”
Todd K., Marketing Coordinator, verified G2 review (Oct 2026)
“We've booked so many more podcasts than I was ever able to secure on my own. This is the best tool I've invested in, including Cision and MuckRack!”
R.B., PR agency owner
“The database is insane. The fact that, when it writes your email, it mentions past episodes is a huge HUGE timesaver for us.”
Sarah Spiegel, Founder, Sarah PR

Pitch, booking and team counts come from PodPitch's own send records, counted on October 21, 2026 (MagicPitch LinkedIn campaigns excluded). G2 figures are from PodPitch's G2 page on the same date, where G2 displays a 5.0 rating from 8 reviews: the highest G2 rating of any PR or podcast outreach tool compared on this site.

What you gain by switching

  • A list you pitch today: podcasts, journalists and Substack writers chosen for fit, instead of a feed you wait on.
  • Pitches written from each contact's recent work, sent from your own inbox with up to two follow-ups.
  • No waiting for a request and no two-hour delay; you start a campaign when you are ready.
  • Unlimited users and client profiles, plus Booked Media reports with estimated earned media value.
  • Keyword alerts when your name or topic shows up in podcast transcripts, news articles or newsletters.

What you give up

  • No journalist request feed. PodPitch cannot show you a reporter who is writing a story today and needs a source; keep a free feed for that.
  • No free plan and no monthly billing. Pricing is quoted on a demo call, not published, and plans run 3, 6 or 12 months.
  • Journalist and Substack outreach were added in 2025, on top of the podcast outreach PodPitch was built on.
  • Setup takes time and lists deserve a review before automatic sending goes on, the same discipline any outreach tool needs.
  • The pitches are AI-drafted from your writing samples, which is what keeps them personal at scale.

How to switch from Qwoted

  1. 1Keep Qwoted Basic running; it is free and still shows requests that fit. On Pro, fees are nonrefundable and access runs to period end, so cancel through the plans page just before renewal.
  2. 2Write down the topics and angles that earned replies on Qwoted; they become your PodPitch profile, and your best Qwoted answers make good writing samples.
  3. 3Book a demo. A rep runs a live search on your topic and shows you the podcasts, journalists and newsletters PodPitch would pitch, with pricing.
  4. 4Connect your Gmail or Outlook, add your writing samples, and review the first batch of pitches before turning on automatic sending; that review keeps poor-fit shows from being pitched.
  5. 5Log bookings in Booked Media and set a Monitor alert on your name, so you hear about coverage even when a journalist does not write back.

How we picked these alternatives

We checked each tool's pricing page on October 21, 2026, and read its terms where published. For reviews we used G2, Trustpilot and TrustRadius, threads in Reddit's r/PublicRelations, and BuzzStream's 2025 study of journalist request platforms. Where a vendor does not publish a price, we say so rather than guess.

For a Qwoted user we weighted the cost of getting quoted, pitch caps, how crowded each request is, whether you can pitch someone who has not posted a request, and support for several clients, over database size and monitoring depth. PodPitch is our product, which is why it is listed first; it also holds the higher G2 rating (5.0 against Qwoted's 4.4). Where a request feed is the better choice for a same-week quote, we say plainly. Qwoted's own strengths, real journalists, a working free tier and a high share of high-authority requests, are reported as we found them.

3. HARO

Visit site
Best for
Anyone with no budget who can answer journalist requests quickly
Pricing
Free, supported by newsletter sponsors; the CEO says no paid tier gets a pitch there faster. Its sister product Connectively, a name Featured reused for its own Q&A platform in May 2026 (separate login), sells Free (3 answers a month), Lite $19/mo or $11 billed yearly, Pro $49 or $29, and Business $99 or $59 with a media database and list exports.

HARO is the original journalist request list, started by Peter Shankman in 2008. Cision replaced it with Connectively, a platform with paid tiers, in April 2024, shut that down on December 9, 2024, and sold HARO to Featured in April 2025; the emails restarted on April 22, 2025 and have been free since. You get up to three digests per weekday and reply to a masked relay address. Next to Qwoted it is free with no paid tier, but competition per request is heavy and there are no read receipts. Our HARO alternatives page covers it in depth.

Strengths

  • Free, with no cap on how many requests you answer.
  • Every query is reviewed by a person; about 32% of requests are rejected before they reach you.
  • Eight query categories including Podcasts and Shows, so some podcast guest requests arrive too.

Weaknesses

  • Crowded: Featured counted 1,394,740 pitches to 42,392 requests between June 2025 and July 2026, about 33 pitches per request.
  • AI spam: 21% of pitches are fully AI-written, and 35% of journalists block AI-flagged pitches.
  • No reply tracking; a Reddit r/PublicRelations commenter says you hear back within 48 hours or not at all. TrustRadius rates it 5 of 10 from 19 ratings, most from before the Connectively episode.

Choose HARO if you want the widest free feed and can answer fast and specifically, and you do not need to know whether anyone read your pitch.

4. Source of Sources

Visit site
Best for
Experts who want the original HARO format with strict moderation and no paid tier
Pricing
Free. The homepage says the list "doesn't cost a dime" and suggests a donation to one of two animal charities instead. No paid tier, no trial, no contract.

Source of Sources is Peter Shankman's second journalist request list, launched in April 2024 as HERO while HARO was being shut down. Up to three emails a day carry journalist queries; you reply directly. Under a partnership announced May 8, 2024, queries from Muck Rack-verified journalists sit at the top of each issue with their Muck Rack profiles embedded. Compared with Qwoted there is no software at all: nothing to pay, nothing to track, and a founder who removes off-topic pitchers with no appeal. Disclosure: Shankman is also quoted on PodPitch's homepage.

Strengths

  • Free, with no paid tier.
  • Verified journalists' queries come first, with Muck Rack profiles in each email.
  • Strict moderation keeps the list useful for journalists; a TrustRadius reviewer wrote that it "captures everything that was great about HARO".

Weaknesses

  • Plain email only: no keyword filters, no journalist filtering, no analytics.
  • Some queries are anonymous, so you cannot always research the journalist before pitching.
  • Removal is at one person's discretion, the site gives no current subscriber count, and we found no G2, Capterra or Trustpilot listing.

Choose Source of Sources if you want a free, clean request feed from a moderator who protects journalists, and can live without filters or reporting.

5. SourceBottle

Visit site
Best for
Experts and small agencies in Australia, New Zealand and the UK
Pricing
Free ($0 forever: profile, directory listing, alerts, 10 keywords). No Pitch, No Pay: $25 per pitch, up to 3 staff pitches a month. Unlimited Pitches: $65 a month or $650 a year. Agency: $130 a month or $1,300 a year for up to 5 expert profiles. The page does not name the currency; an older page quoted prices ex GST, which points to Australian dollars.

SourceBottle has run media call-outs since 2009, starting in Australia and now covering the UK, US, New Zealand and Canada. Journalists, bloggers and podcasters post requests, which reach subscribers as keyword-matched email alerts, and experts can list a free profile in a directory journalists search. Its twist on the Qwoted model is that paid plans are human-run: staff pitch your profile to matching call-outs. Outside Australia and New Zealand the volume is thin, and requests skew consumer and lifestyle.

Strengths

  • A real free tier that can respond to unlimited call-outs.
  • Keyword matching (10, 20 or unlimited) cuts noise compared with an unfiltered feed.
  • The Agency plan covers 5 expert profiles at a published $130 a month, where Qwoted's Teams plan is quote only.

Weaknesses

  • Thin volume in the US and globally outside its home markets.
  • A review counts about 20 queries per email, many on consumer and personal-story topics, with tight deadlines.
  • The entry paid plan caps staff pitching at 3 call-outs a month, and currency and cancellation terms are not stated.

Choose SourceBottle if your market is Australia, New Zealand or the UK and you want cheap, keyword-filtered call-outs or someone to pitch for you.

6. MentionMatch (formerly Help a B2B Writer)

Visit site
Best for
B2B SaaS founders and marketers who want quotes and backlinks in B2B blogs
Pricing
No public price. The old pricing page returns nothing and the MentionMatch FAQ entry "Is MentionMatch free?" was blank when we checked. Superpath said in 2022 it would keep a free tier for sources, and third-party roundups list it as free.

Help a B2B Writer is a free request board for B2B content: writers at SaaS and marketing publications post a request for quotes, data or anecdotes, and sources who ticked a matching expertise area get it by email. Superpath bought it on December 8, 2022 and is renaming it MentionMatch; both domains show the same page with a "launching soon" banner. Its case against Qwoted is relevance: fewer requests, but only ones in the B2B expertise areas you pick.

Strengths

  • Free, no card, with 9,000+ registered B2B sources per the site.
  • You choose expertise areas (SaaS, SEO, sales, CRO, ecommerce and more) and see only matching requests.
  • Requests have come from high-authority sites; an older support page cited writers from DR 79 and DR 93 publications.

Weaknesses

  • Much lower request volume than HARO, Featured or Qwoted.
  • Superpath's cofounder flagged an AI-reply problem on the board around February 2024.
  • Branding is in flux (two domains, empty FAQ answers), and there is no way to pitch outward.

Choose MentionMatch (formerly Help a B2B Writer) if you sell to B2B buyers, want backlinks and quotes in SaaS and marketing blogs, and can wait for the right request.

Qwoted alternatives: common questions

Is Qwoted a legit company?

Yes. Qwoted, Inc. is based in New York, is backed by the PR firms Prosek Partners and Vested, and raised a $3 million seed round in June 2021. BuzzStream's 2025 study found it had the most requests of seven platforms, about 70% from high domain-rating sites. It rates 4.4 of 5 on G2 (23 reviews) and 3.3 of 5 on Trustpilot (121), where a common complaint is accounts disabled without a clear reason.

How much does Qwoted cost?

The Basic plan is free, limited to 2 pitches a month with a 2-hour pitch delivery delay. Pro costs $149 a month, or $1,188 a year ($99 a month), for 35 pitches a month with instant delivery. Teams (unlimited pitches, shared access) and the managed QwotedAmplify service are quote only, and fees are nonrefundable once paid.

What is Qwoted used for?

Getting quoted. Journalists post calls for expert sources, experts or their PR teams pitch a short answer inside Qwoted, and the reporter replies there if interested. Journalists also post product, podcast guest and speaker requests, and since September 2026 experts can pitch by video. The guidelines say not to contact reporters outside the platform unless they ask. A free media database is in beta.

What are the best journalist request platforms?

Five free or cheap feeds cover most needs: HARO (free, back under Featured since April 2025), Qwoted (free for 2 pitches a month), Source of Sources (free, moderated by HARO's founder), SourceBottle (free, strongest in Australia, New Zealand and the UK) and MentionMatch, formerly Help a B2B Writer (free, B2B only). Featured pulls HARO, Connectively, Substack, X and LinkedIn requests into one tool, free or from $29 a month billed annually. Which is best depends on your region and topic, and the free ones can run side by side.

Is there a free Qwoted alternative?

Yes, several. HARO, Source of Sources and MentionMatch are free. SourceBottle and Featured have free plans, and Connectively, the name Featured relaunched its own Q&A platform under in May 2026, has a free plan with 3 answers a month. Qwoted's own Basic plan is also free; the difference is its 2-pitch cap and 2-hour delay.

Is HARO still active?

Yes. Cision replaced HARO with Connectively, a platform with paid tiers, in April 2024, and shut that down on December 9, 2024. Featured bought HARO in April 2025 and restarted the emails on April 22, 2025, and in May 2026 it reused the Connectively name for its own Q&A platform. HARO itself is free, with up to three digests per weekday, and every query is reviewed by a person before it goes out.

How much does PodPitch cost, and is there a contract?

PodPitch pricing is quoted on a free demo call rather than published. Plans are billed every 3, 6 or 12 months, with longer terms costing less, and every plan includes unlimited users and client profiles. There is no free plan. Book a demo to get a quote for your topic or client list.

How is PodPitch different from Qwoted?

Qwoted is reactive: you wait for a journalist to post a request, then compete with everyone else who answers it. PodPitch is proactive: it finds podcasts, journalists and Substack writers that fit your expertise, writes a pitch referencing their recent work, and sends it from your inbox with up to two follow-ups. The two do different jobs, and running a free request feed alongside PodPitch covers both.

Which Qwoted alternative should you choose?

Founder who wants quotes in articles on a zero budget

Both are free; HARO has the better-known feed, Source of Sources the stricter moderation.
